With four formulas available, your peel can be tailored from a gentle first-time refresh to a more intensive treatment for aging or stubborn pigment. VI Peel suits a wide range of skin, which is part of its appeal, and there are still clear situations where we would postpone or choose something else.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we wait. The blend contains salicylic acid and a retinoid, so this is not the treatment for now, and we will suggest alternatives in the meantime.
You are likely a good candidate if:

How It Works

It is a superficial-to-medium peel, not a deep resurfacing one, which is why the recovery is a week rather than a month.

How Long Results Last
It depends on the depth. A lighter peel refreshes the skin for up to about a month. A medium peel shows results for about 3 to 5 months. A deeper peel can last about 6 to 8 months. Because peels support your skin’s natural cell turnover, a regular rhythm compounds the benefit against acne, aging, and discoloration. For many patients an annual or seasonal VI Peel, folded into a broader skincare plan, is the sweet spot, and we will map that out with you.

What to Expect After Your Peel
Peeling is the most common VI Peel question, so here is what to expect day by day.
Day of treatment
Deep cleanse, the formula applied and left on for up to an hour, then removed and rinsed. You leave with a calming mask. You may look slightly tinted or tight, and you can go about your day.
Days 2 to 3
The peeling starts. It is usually light-to-moderate rather than dramatic, and it is visible.
About 5 days
Your skin sloughs, meaning it flakes and sheds. Do not pick or pull the flaking skin, no matter how tempting. That is what risks uneven results or marks.
By about day 10
Sloughing resolves completely, and the fresher skin underneath is the payoff.
Ongoing
Strict sun protection every day, and medical-grade skincare, which is what protects the result.
Many patients schedule their peel during a quieter social week. The peeling is usually light to moderate and is a sign your skin is renewing beautifully.

What makes a VI Peel different from other peels?
Two things. First, its blend, trichloroacetic acid, tretinoin, salicylic acid, a small amount of phenol, and vitamin C, is self-neutralizing and designed to deliver real results with less harshness than a single strong acid. Second, it comes in four formulas, so it can be tuned to your specific concern and skin, from a gentle first peel to a more intensive treatment.
Is a VI Peel safe for my skin tone?
Yes. Unlike laser and IPL treatments, which target pigment with light and can be risky on deeper skin, a VI Peel works chemically and is generally safe across all skin tones, including Black and brown skin. It is one of the better options for pigment and melasma on deeper skin.
Is there phenol in it? Is that a deep peel?
There is a small amount of phenol in the blend, but a VI Peel is not a deep phenol peel. A true deep phenol peel uses phenol at high concentration and involves major downtime and cardiac monitoring. Here, phenol is one minor component of a balanced, superficial-to-medium peel. The two are very different treatments.
How much will I peel, and for how long?
You will peel, and it is worth planning for. Sloughing usually starts around day two or three and continues for about five days, resolving by around day ten. It is generally light-to-moderate rather than dramatic, but it is visible, so many people book when they have a quieter social week. Do not pick at it.
Can I get a VI Peel if I am pregnant?
No. The blend contains salicylic acid and a retinoid, so we wait until you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell us, and we will suggest pregnancy-safe alternatives in the meantime.
Which formula do I need?
Original for a first peel or general tone and texture. Advanced for mature skin and more established aging. Precision Plus for stubborn dark spots and pigment. Purify for active acne and congestion. Your provider confirms the right one at your visit, and Precision Plus and Purify are sometimes combined.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel some tingling, warmth, or mild stinging while the formula is on, which is brief and manageable. The treatment is quick, and we finish with a calming mask.
How much does it cost?
VI Peels are priced per session, with the formula and any pairings affecting the total. Many patients ask about packages, since regular peels extend the benefit. We give you clear pricing at your visit.
How long do results last?
