What sets her apart
A fellowship in hand and microsurgery gives Dr. Wang Ashraf a level of precision that most cosmetic surgeons simply do not train for.
That microsurgical background, earned at the Raymond Curtis National Hand Center, means she operates with a heightened command of tissue handling, nerve preservation, and fine-detail work. It is the reason her breast reconstruction outcomes and cosmetic contouring results carry the refinement they do.

ABOUT DR. WANG ASHRAF
Science First. Artistry Always.
Before Dr. Wang Ashraf ever held a scalpel, she studied algorithms. Her undergraduate degree in computer science at Purdue, earned summa cum laude, instilled a way of thinking that still shows in the operating room: systematic, detail-oriented, and precise.
That analytical foundation met surgical training at Johns Hopkins, where she completed both her medical degree (with honors) and her residency in general surgery and plastic surgery. A fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Raymond Curtis National Hand Center further sharpened her technical range.
Prior to joining Artisan Plastic Surgery, she taught and mentored residents in the Emory University plastic surgery residency program. She has published numerous articles and book chapters on breast cancer reconstruction, and her research has been presented at national and international plastic surgery conferences.
Today, she brings all of that rigor to her specialization in cosmetic breast surgery, body contouring, and breast cancer reconstruction, treating thousands of patients with what colleagues and patients describe as a combination of skill, sophistication, and gentle attentiveness.

Outside the operating room
Meet Bernadette
Dr. Wang Ashraf and her husband, ophthalmologist Dr. Farooq Ashraf, are empty nesters with three young adult daughters. When she is not in the OR, she is most likely somewhere on the other side of the world. Travel is her reset button, and she says you never know which country you will find her in next.
At home in Atlanta, she reads, paints, and wages an ongoing campaign to keep her orchids alive. She freely admits she cannot cook, but she has never met a cuisine she would not try. And yes, she watches the occasional guilty-pleasure reality show.
