What is ThermiTight?

ThermiTight is a minimally invasive treatment that uses targeted radiofrequency energy to heat tissues and stimulate collagen production. During treatment, a small, thin probe is inserted just beneath the skin, which allows your provider to target just the right tissue layers to induce the desired improvements in skin tone and firmness.

What to expect with Atlanta ThermiTight treatments

We will first numb the treatment area with local and/or topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort (most of our patients say the procedure is painless).

To treat the area, your surgeon will insert a small probe just under your skin, which will heat tissues to a specific temperature. The heat produced is constantly monitored and controlled to ensure maximum benefit while keeping you safe.

Your surgeon will then carefully move the probe in small, precise motions to “sculpt” your results. You can expect an immediate improvement in tissue contraction, with greater skin tightening occurring gradually over the course of 4 to 6 months as new collagen is produced.

What is the recovery like after ThermiTight?

Depending on the treatment area, you may go home wearing a compression garment to help control any post-procedure swelling and to support your results as they take shape. Most patients will wear this compression around the clock for a couple of days, and then at night for a few weeks. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and other normal activity within 2 to 4 days after their procedure.

Mild bruising, swelling, and tenderness are common after a ThermiTight treatment, although these side effect typically disappear after a week or two. If you are active in sports, you may need to modify your workout routine for a short period; our plastic surgeons will discuss this with you at your consultation.

Am I a good candidate ThermiTight?

ThermiTight can be an excellent option for patients to tighten loose skin without surgery. The best candidates are experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity, who are at a healthy body weight, and who have realistic expectations. If you have significantly stretched, sagging skin or drooping tissues in your area of concern, you may be happier with the results of a surgical procedure, such as a facelift, tummy tuck, or breast lift.
