What is microneedling?

What to expect with your SkinPen microneedling treatment

Each SkinPen treatment can take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area(s). The SkinPen handpiece is placed on the surface of your skin and gently moved across the treatment area. We can apply a topical anesthetic to help keep you comfortable, although most patients only report a mild, buzzing sensation treatment.

Following the treatment, you can resume most normal activities. Your skin will look slightly red and feel sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn for 2 or 3 days. You will need to keep treated skin completely protected from the sun for several days. A customized at-home skincare routine can help you achieve optimal results; our licensed medical aesthetician will help you design the right plan for your needs.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients choose to have a series of 2 to 4 microneedling treatments, spaced one month apart, as multiple treatments can achieve the most dramatic improvements.
