How the ProFractional laser improves skin with less downtime

The ProFractional laser is a fractionated Erbium tunable resurfacing laser. Each pass of the laser ablates only a fraction of the skin in an area, treating blemishes and promotes collagen production with considerably less downtime and reduced risk of scarring, discoloration, and other side effects common with fully ablative  lasers.

As a tunable laser, we can adjust the depth of ProFractional treatment to target your specific concerns and induce your desired changes effectively and predictably. As an Erbium laser, ProFractional is safe for a wider variety of skin types than many other lasers.

What to expect from ProFractional laser treatment

We’ll start with a personalized consultation to determine that ProFractional is the right treatment for you. Prior to each laser treatment session, we will apply a topical anesthetic to help maximize your comfort. Treatment time varies depending on the size and number of areas you are having treated, but typically ranges between 15 and 45 minutes.

Following your treatment, your skin may feel very warm for a couple of hours, and you will have a sunburned appearance to your skin. It’s very important to keep laser treated skin fully protected from the sun while it heals. We will provide detailed aftercare instructions for you to follow.

ProFractional laser recovery

Depending on the depth of treatment, you may need up to four days of healing time before you are ready to resume your normal social activities. Most patients can return to work and wear makeup after one to two days.

How many treatments will I need?

While you’ll experience noticeable improvements after your first ProFractional treatment, most patients have a series of two to five treatments spaced about one month apart.
