Arm Lift in Atlanta
Picture yourself waving to a friend, stirring your favorite cake batter, or getting your groove on the dance floor. Are you focusing on the joy of these activities—or worrying about how your arms look? At Artisan Plastic Surgery, we believe you deserve to enjoy life with confidence. If you feel limited in what you do or wear because of sagging, loose skin on your upper arms, we can help with a personalized upper arm lift procedure.
What is an arm lift?
Also called brachioplasty, arm lift surgery restores a firmer, more youthful and slender appearance to upper arms that have lost tone due to aging, weight loss, or genetics. The procedure involves a linear incision on the underside of the upper arm through which excess skin and fat is removed and underlying tissues tightened.

Am I a good candidate for arm lift surgery?
Diet and exercise can help you get more slender upper arms by reducing fat, but no amount of toning exercise can help with loose, stretched skin. If you have tried what you can to tone and tighten your arms with a healthy diet and exercise, but still have loose, sagging skin on your upper arms, an upper arm lift could offer the results you are looking for.
Most of our Atlanta arm lift patients are women who have lost significant weight, or have lost skin elasticity due to aging. For these patients, an arm lift can dramatically improve their comfort in fitted sleeves and sleeveless attire, as well as improve their self-confidence when moving their arms.
The brachioplasty procedure
Our Atlanta plastic surgeons typically perform brachioplasty as an outpatient procedure with general anesthesia. Incisions are located on the underside of the arm, so scars are naturally concealed in most positions. Scars should also fade significantly with proper care.
Arm lift recovery
Following surgery, you will go home wearing compression around your arms. You will be able to get up and walk around later that evening, but you will have to limit your activity and refrain from heavy lifting, reaching, or straining for several weeks. Most patients return to a desk job within a week, and can resume exercise about 2 to 3 weeks after an arm lift. Keep in mind that if you are combining procedures, your recovery may by longer.
