Bernadette Ashraf

Dr. Bernadette Wang Ashraf is a leading board-certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience in cosmetic breast and body contouring as well as breast cancer reconstruction. Her tremendous skills, sophistication, and gentle nature have won the trust and respect of thousands of patients.
After graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. in computer science at Purdue University, she received her M.D. with honors at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Wang Ashraf trained in general surgery and plastic surgery at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a fellowship in hand and micro-surgery at the Raymond Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Prior to joining Artisan Plastic Surgery, she taught and mentored residents in the Emory University plastic surgery residency program. In addition, she’s published numerous articles and book chapters on breast cancer reconstruction. Her work has also been presented at national and international plastic surgery conferences.

Dr. Wang Ashraf and her husband, ophthalmologist Dr. Farooq Ashraf, are empty nesters who have three young adult daughters. In her downtime, she’s a world traveler and you never know what country you’ll find her in. Although she says she can’t cook, she loves trying different types of cuisine. When she’s sitting still, she enjoys reading, painting, trying to keep orchids alive, and occasional trash TV.
